Datapages and the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia announced PESA publications will become part of the Archives and DEO programs. Work will begin this fall and continue through the first quarter of 2016.
This important collection helps to anchor our coverage in SE Asia and in the SW Pacific giving geologists working in that region the richest resource available. Last month, Datapages and the South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society announced SEAPEX publications will also become part of our program.
“We are excited to have PESA in our collection,” said Peter Wigley, volunteer Director of the DEO project. “The PESA collection is a major resource and represents a quality asset.”
Ron Hart, manager of AAPG’s Datapages group, expects to begin adding documents before the end of 2015 but georectification of the map images and other mappable objects probably won’t begin until after the first of January.
Unconventional Resources, Atlantic Margins Added to Archives
Datapages staff recently posted the papers from the 2015 Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTEC), held in August in San Antonio, bringing that collection up to date.
We continue to post articles from the journal, Atlantic Geology, and we expect to be completed with that collection by the end of 2015. More than 2,000 documents have been posted to date, from 1965 through 2001. More are coming.
Oklahoma Stratigraphic Correlations
Datapages has been working with Tulsa Geological Society Foundation to offer access to the Glenn Cole Collection of more than 500 stratigraphic correlations, centered on northeast Oklahoma. See more details later in this newsletter, under GIS News.
